Gyo Gardens require a bit of imagination on the part of the viewer to 'complete the image'. Individual rocks in the garden might represent mountains or a tickle of water a mountain stream. A miniature Bonsai tree represents a large, full grown tree. To capture the image the creator wishes you to see you must 'squint' your eyes shut a bit and imagine the scene to be full sized. In the garden below, the moss becomes a pine forest and the rocks are jutting cliffs.
